Afonso holds a PhD in Biophysics, with a background in research and in science management. Since 2017 he has been involved in the support of applications to competitive funding and in the technical coordination and management of H2020 projects in the areas of Health and Digital Health. In addition, he has collaborated with EU infrastructures in the areas of ICT and life sciences.
In 2020 he joined AICIB as a National Contact Point and Delegate for health in the European Framework Programme.
Aisha Hasan serves as the Head of Global Health IT for the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC). In her position, she leads ONC’s global health IT strategy, engagement with multi-national organizations, projects and initiatives, stakeholder engagements, bi-lateral and multi-lateral agreements and meetings, and marketing collateral. She has 12+ years of experience in technology, health care, policy, strategy, and business. Aisha has held multiple health IT, health care, and public health positions within the US federal government. Aisha is an MBA graduate with a proven record of leading multi-sector, complex, and large-scale efforts to produce high-quality deliverables for bottom-line success. She is entrepreneurial at heart and a team player recognized for breakthrough thinking to strengthen global health care systems. Aisha drives change in health care by bridging the gap between health policy, health data standards, and technology to advance national and global interoperability, and galvanize person-centered care.
Dr. Alan Taylor served as Vice President of the Australian Telehealth Society, 2016 to 2020 and has led the preparation of the international guidelines on telehealth services for the International Organisation for Standisation. He has led numerous initiatives to improve access to healthcare using ICT and is currently researching the sustainability of telehealth services. He is the author of a book to be published in 2021 on health technology in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic, which focuses on the Australian and Brazilian telehealth systems.

Alfonso Valencia is ICREA Research Professor and Director of the Life Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC), Director of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB) and head of the Spanish Node of ELIXIR. He has served in numerous Scientific Advisory Boards, including the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), of which he is currently Vice Chair, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, the Swiss Institute for Bioinformatics among others. He is Co-Executive Editor of Bioinformatics. He has published more than 400 articles with an h-index of 89.
I currently work as a vascular neurologist at Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville (Spain) and at Andalusian Telestroke Center (Centro Andaluz de Teleictus – CATI-), where more than 1700 patients have been treated during the first two years since its implantation.
Dr. Carriazo is currently Senior Advisor at the Regional Ministry of Health and Families of Andalusia, Spain, (since 2008) and Reference Site Collaborative Network Vice-chair (since 2017). Before, she worked at the Andalusian Health Service for more than 19 years (health information systems, e-health, healthcare basket of services among others).
She got her Degree in Medicine (1986) and her PhD in Public Health (1997) at the University of Seville. She also holds a Degree in Statistics of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2001). She is specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health (2003).

Ander Elustondo Jauregui works as a Policy Officer at the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, at the European Commission. His work focuses on the use and re-use of data in health, and the use of artificial intelligence and digital health services and products. He currently contributes to the creation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS). He has a background in engineering and computer science.
